The Judith A. Keenan Scholarship was established in 2013 to commemorate the life and spirit of Judith Keenan, beloved lecturer in the Department of Business Studies and Economics at Salve Regina University.

A teacher, Mrs. Keenan was generous with her time and resources. “Judy knew the value of education and had an overwhelming joy and desire to help people learn,” recalls one of her colleagues, Dr. Arlene Nicholas.

Mrs. Keenan had a long career as an educator. After retiring as an art teacher after 28 years in the West Warwick school system, she earned her master’s degree in information technology. In 1999, she joined the Salve Regina Community as a business studies professor.

Judith loved teaching; loved her students; and loved Salve Regina. The Judith A. Keenan Scholarship is a fitting tribute to a vibrant educator that is a permanent part of Salve Regina’s assistance to students in need of financial support for their education.
